Welcome to Price County Books-By-Mail

Books-By-Mail is collection of popular paperback books that are loaned free of charge and sent by mail.

This service is available to residents of Price County who find it difficult to make use of our public libraries. Items listed on this website and our catalogs may be borrowed for three weeks. We try to mail books within two days of receiving your order. If the items you requested are not available, we substitute a similar item, unless you ask not to do so. Remember, we do offer reference and interlibrary loan service. If you want materials we do not show in this web site, or items on a specific subject, please write your request on your order card, email, or let us know by telephone. Such requests may take little longer but we will do our best to get you what you need.

If you are a new Books-By-Mail user, we will send you a brief registration form to help us tailor this service to your needs. Please remember that by State Law, library records are held private. We do not share your email address, postal address, borrowing history, or any other information. It is only for in-house use, to serve you.

Postage is prepaid, but if you can supply return postage please let us know. This helps stretch our limited postage budget.

Books-By-Mail loans may also be returned at Price County Public Libraries (Ogema, Phillips, Park Falls), or placed in their drop boxes. If you plan on doing this regularly, please let us know so we don't waste return postage on your mailing label. Thanks!

How to Order

Click the Catalog tab on this website. You will see a number of recent catalogs and book lists. Click on the icon and browse.
You may also request paper copies of any of these lists, if you find that more convenient. Once you have made your book selections, please send us the order, which should include Author/Title of each item.

You may use one of several methods to send your order:
1. Use the order form on this website. Just click on the Order tab. Fill in the Form and press Send.
2. Send us an email with a list of your Author/Title requests to:pcbbm@pricecountyls.org
3. Mail us a preprinted order card with your selections. We include an order card with every book order you get.
4. Place your order by Telephone at 715-762-3121.

Find the order method that works the best for you.

We will mail your order in a reusable mailer, with return postage on the other side of the mailing label, unless other arrangements have been made.

To Return Items:

• 1. Flip over the mailing label on the reusable cloth mailing bag.
• 2. Add postage, if you are providing your own return postage.
• 3. Put your returned library materials in the bag.
• 4. Include your order form for more books!
• 5. Secure the zipper with the enclosed plastic tag.
• 6. Mail the package on or before the due date.
